About Win-Some Bible Camp

Win-Some Bible Camp was founded at the Freedom grounds by Avery Wetzig (an ASSU missionary) in 1947. ASSU and InFaith (formerly American Missionary Fellowship) held camp there under the directorship of Neal and Esther Alexander until 1984, and the camp was officially named Win-Some Bible Camp in the early 1970's. In 1985, Arvid and Bonnie Ellis took over as directors of the camp, and ran the camp together until Arvid went home to be with Jesus. Bonnie ran the camp until her retirement, and many different missionaries and lay workers have helped out over the years. Brett Belleque and family were involved with camp for several years. Bonnie retired in October of 2021, so in 2022, one of the lay workers directed the camp. Maxine Rozendaal will be camp director again this year. She co-directed camp with Bonnie since 2019. Many campers know her as "Max" as she has been involved with junior and primary camp since 1999 playing piano, leading the "bells", running the camp store and taking pictures.

"Camp is held during the summer months, and we desire campers to find Christ as Savior and encourage those who know Him in their walk with the Lord."
~ Bonnie Ellis, Former Director

The camp is located near Chariton, Iowa, and serves children and teens across the state.

Win-Some Bible Camp holds camps every summer. You can find this year's camp dates here.
